History of Papop – cerebrating 30 years of innovation on wastewater treatment and biogas

Papop Company Limited was established in 1991 by a group of experience Thai engineers who committed themselves to innovation in biotechnology and advanced wastewater treatment. Papop is one of the first company to commercialized UASB process for biogas production in Thailand.

The company has prospered with expertise and over 30 years’ experience. With more than 100 completed projects and numerous prestigious awards domestically and internationally, Papop has been recognized as one of the top biogas technology providers in Thailand and Southeast Asia. The company has registered ISO9001:2015 in 2018. 

Papop has expanded its business since its inception to address the domestic growing demands in green and clean energy as well as satisfying clients in various businesses. Papop has established new subsidiaries as follows: 

Papop Renewable Co., Ltd. 

  • Produce and sell biogas and electricity to the targeted industries as well as the grid. 

Papop Soliqua Co., Ltd.  

  • Produce and sell electricity from solar cells. 
  • Produce and sell clean water through membrane or other advanced technology to the targeted industries.

Remarks from Dr. Apipong Lamsam

During the past three years due to the pandemic, the world has changed rapidly to the point where no one have ever imagined in terms of supply chain disruption, technology war, geopolitical conflicts and much more. These unprecedented conditions have caused us hardship in doing normal businesses. Travel restrictions and delay of project execution were the norm of the past 3 years. Several businesses have vanished or disrupted. On the other hard, Papop team have survived and thrived.

I would like to sincerely thank all the clients, staff, partners and suppliers who still have confident in us. From now on, Papop shall continue to improve in all our operation.  Looking to the next 2 years, I would like to focus on new businesses that we have developed which include solar, water reuse, leachate treatment and nano technology.

I strongly believe that we can build a sustainable business. In the 3rd quarter of 2023, we will launch a new product from our proprietary nano technology. This technology will be the disruption of biogas business and will set a great new milestone of achievement for Papop. Papop has been and will always be the leading green tech company that is driven by innovation to address the market needs.

Remarks from Dr. Apipong Lamsam

In 2021 Papop celebrates 30th year anniversary. I am delighted to be a part of Papop prosperity for the past 10 years. Since its inception, the company has gone through up and down periods. For instance, the pandemic has affected our work and delivery in 2020 and 2021. However, I believe that we can steer through these difficulties with supports from clients, partners most importantly our dedicated staff as always. 

In the next 10 years, I strongly believe that Papop can continue to be leading biogas technology provider in Thailand and also extend to other fields of businesses which include 

  • Biogas production from energy crop and organic waste 
  • Solar cells for energy production
  • Water reuse and recycling using membrane technology 
  • Battery
  • IT

These future businesses shall benefit the society, staff, management and shareholders as they make the world a better place through decarbonizing and minimizing climate change.

The next wave of digital technology can disrupt the existing technology. Our organization needs to adapt to the new era swiftly. To do this, I hope to strengthening support and encouragement from all staff and management. Our company needs to reposition itself to this 5G era to survive and prosper with dignity and good spirit.  

My management philosophy in 5G era is as below. 

  • Gain value – we continue to turn waste to wealth by delivering the most suitable technology and products to the clients and the society
  • Green innovation – we shall develop cutting edge technology to address the society’s problems 
  • 5G Communication – communicate inside and outside the organization should be fast and effective
  • Growth – should be sustainable and benefit all stakeholders
  • Good Governance – we strive to work with good ethic and moral.
